In Memorium
Dr. M. Gage Ochsner passed away on May 3, 2013. He had been a member of the Congress for 17 years. During those years he served as Second Vice President, Councilor-at-Large, Rounding Professor for Posters, and discussed many papers at the annual meetings.
Dr. Ochsner practiced at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia and started an Institute for Injury Research and Prevention. The vision for the Institute was to have a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals working together to research, identify, and educate the community on the leading causes of preventable injuries.
Dr. Carl Boyd has written a book on the history of surgery, "Echoes from the Operating Room" which is dedicated to Dr. Ochsner. This book is for sale and all proceeds are being donated to the Institute.
